Free will / Bondage of the Will

The sinner has no more free will toward God than a dead man has a “free will” to choose resurrection, or a child in the womb has a “free will” to choose to be born. Being dead in sin, being by nature enemies of God, our wills are bound in relation to the things of God. He chooses us, not we him. He resurrects us to new life in Christ; we don’t do that. He makes us born again, born from above. We don’t use our will to select that option. Again, all glory goes to the Lord, who chooses us, brings us to faith, and keeps us in the faith. This is why the Gospel is GOOD news and not Okay News, because our Good God has done it all for us.
