1517 does not identify as a church body and is not associated with any ecclesiastical denomination. Therefore, we do not engage in public ministry through Word and Sacrament. Our hope is for every Christian to hear the message of forgiveness in Christ directly from the mouth of a preacher within a local congregation week in and week out (click here for more info). We do not officially endorse any specific congregation or denomination. Rather, we encourage individuals to seek out a church that upholds a proper understanding of Law and Gospel (for reference, click here, here and here), emphasizes the freedom found solely in Christ, believes that salvation comes by Faith alone, and teaches Scripture alone. Although we have partnered with several churches (click here for more information), we suggest that you personally investigate, talk with the clergy, and worship with the community to determine if it aligns with your beliefs and understandings.
