What church or denomination is Chad Bird affiliated with?

Chad's upbringing was as a Southern Baptist. Around the age of nineteen, he became interested in Lutheranism and has been in that Reformation tradition ever since. He and his family worship at a Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod congregation. That being said, his own focus in teaching and writing might be said to follow the approach of C. S. Lewis in Mere Christianity, who concentrated not on what divides the various traditions of Christianity but what unites us in the Gospel. So, while remaining true to his own theological heritage and confession, he strives “to keep the main thing the main thing,” namely, the Good News that we are free and forgiven on account of Christ alone.
