Here is what we know. Jesus died and was buried. He also told the thief, "Today, you will be with me in Paradise." Peter also tells us that, made alive in the spirit, Jesus went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison (1 Pet. 3:18-19). And he certainly was resurrected bodily on the third day. Personally, I don't try to put all of these things into a timeline because I do not think Scripture gives us enough info to do so. I just confess them as the work of Jesus, in totality, during these three days--all done for us.
